The Role of Women Entrepreneurs in The Emerging Economic Force

Abstract :

Women entreprenurers have been making a significant impact in all segments of the economy in India. The areas choosen by women are retail trade, restaurants, hotels, education, cultural, cleaning insurance and manufacturing.Any strategy aimed at economic development will be lop–sided without involving women who constitute half of the world population. Evidence has unequivocally established that entrepreneurial spirit is not a male prerogative. Women owned businesses are highly increasing in the economies of almost all countries. The hidden entrepreneurial potentials of women have gradually been changing with the growing sensitivity to the role and economic status in the society. Skill, knowledge and adaptability in business are the main reasons for women to emerge into business ventures. Major objectives of the study are to ascertain the factors in the emergence of women entrepreneurs’ further study highlighted the major constraint and challenges faced by women entrepreneur and opportunity available to them. At the end the paper makes some suggestions for increase or promotion of women entrepreneurs and healthy growth of women entrepreneurs in India.
