Women Empowerment in India A Burning Issue

Dr. Shankar T. Battase, Smt. Sunanda Shankar

Abstract :

Women face many social challenges today. In the simplest of words it is basically the creation of an environment where women can make independent decisions on their personal development as well as shine as equals in society. Women want to be treated as equals so much so that if a woman rises to the top of her field it should be a commonplace occurrence that draws nothing more than a raised eyeow at the gender. This can only happen if there is a channelized route for the empowerment of women. Women empowerment is the cultivation of personhood in women that consists of the only concrete, everlasting ingredient of one’s identity– their mind and the knowledge it possesses. By networking to build better businesses, women gain economic empowerment.
