Mr. Abhishek Ghai, Dr. S. A. Rizwan
Abstract :
This paper examines the motivation level of the employees working in F&B (Food and Beverage) Service department with special focus on the Banquets of north Indian hotels. It examines the parameters that have motivational impact on the employees of the division. To address the objectives of the study 170 respondents were questioned from various chain and non–chain hotels in India. The result was analyzed on Herzberg’s and Maslow’s theories. The results reveal that employers need to put special emphasis to motivate Banquet staff. It was found that many motivational attributes were missing from the F&B employees and a step needs to be taken to motivate them to not only perform but will also reduce the labour turnover existing in this particular department.
