Working Capital Management in Power Distribution Companies in Andhra Pradesh � An Empirical Study

Abstract :

Finance plays a vital role in any entity’s success and survival. For the smooth functioning of an enterprise sufficient amount of working capital is an essential element of funds. The appropriate levels of working capital play a key role in the success of power distribution companies of Andhra Pradesh state. Four power distribution companies APSPDCL, APEPDCL, APNPDCL and APCPDCL came into force and started function from 1st April 2000. The working capital performance of all the four distribution companies is not up to the satisfactory level. The present research paper highlights the status and size of current assets, current liabilities, working capital and the liquidity position as well as the working capital performance in terms of sales achievements during the study period
