T.V watching Habits and academic achievement in teaching of English at the B.Ed level in Puducherry region

Abstract :

<p>&lt;p&gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;gt;The present study aims at identifying the relationship between T.V watching habits and academic achievement in&amp;amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;lt;div&amp;amp;gt;teaching of English at the B.Ed level in puducherry region and significant difference between the sub samples of the&amp;amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;lt;div&amp;amp;gt;trainees in respect of their T.V watching habits and academic achievement in teaching of English at the B.Ed level.&amp;amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;lt;div&amp;amp;gt;The investigators have randomly selected 104 trainees from four different colleges of education in puducherry region as sample. The scale T.V&amp;amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;lt;div&amp;amp;gt;watching habits and academic achievement in teaching of English are developed and standardized by the investigators. By using the normative&amp;amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;lt;div&amp;amp;gt;survey method, the results reveal that there is significant relationship between T.V watching habits and academic achievement in teaching of&amp;amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;lt;div&amp;amp;gt;English at the B.Ed level. Hence the B.Ed trainees having T.V watching habits show better academic achievement in teaching of English at the B.Ed&amp;amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;lt;div&amp;amp;gt;level. Also a few results reveal significant difference in T.V watching habits and academic achievement in teaching of English in the sub categories&amp;amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;lt;div&amp;amp;gt;sex, subject and locality&amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&lt;/p&gt;</p>
