THE HEARTBLEED BUG: A RECENT VULNERABILITY IN OPENSSL

Abstract :
<p><p>&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;The Heartbleed Bug is a serious vulnerability in a popular OpenSSL cryptographic software liary. This weakness&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;div&gt;allows stealing the protected information, by the SSL/TLS encryption used to secure the internet. SSL/TLS provides&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;communication security and privacy over the internet for applications such as email, web applications, instant&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;messaging (IM) and some virtual private networks (VPNs). This paper focuses on the this new bug in OpenSSL , risk involved with it, along with&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;the mitigation.&lt;/div&gt;</p></p>
