To Generate an Estimation Rule for Prediction of the Changes in Dimension of Components Due to Heat Treatment

Abstract :

Heat treatment changes the physical properties of materials. Components are generated with the part print dimensions before they are sent to heat treatment. After heat treatment this dimensions alter. These changes may cause rejection of component or extra machining at the final stage of component. Prediction of the dimensional changes due to heat treatment will help in reducing the number of rejections and reduces the final stage machining. So record the changes in dimensions of components and based on that establish the rule which help in prediction of the dimensional change for a component.
