Abstract :

<p>&nbsp;This paper named, &lsquo;Television Commercials and Literary Criticism&rsquo; makes a novel attempt to connect advertisements and literature. It does not make a comparison between the two, but applies some literary theories to television commercials. The paper further hints of reading &lsquo;low culture&rsquo; through the principles of &lsquo;high culture&rsquo;. The point it makes is that the changed role of commercials should be studied seriously.</p>
