A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS ON ADHESION OF AH PLUS SEALER TO HUMAN ROOT DENTIN, TREATED WITH RC-HELP, 10% CITRIC ACID & 17% EDTA USING ULTRASONIC IRRIGATION

Abstract :

<p>&nbsp;<b style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif">Aim - </span></b><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">The aim of this study is to evaluate the adhesion of AH PLUS sealer to human root dentin treated with 17% EDTA,10% citric acid and RC-HELP, using the push-out test.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in;text-align:justify;line-height:150%"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif">Materials and Methods -</span></b><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"> </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:&#10;150%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">40 extracted mandibular first premolar teeth were included in the study. After mixing the AH plus sealer&nbsp; (Dentsply, Germany), it was applied along the walls of the canals.</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"> </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:&#10;150%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">Gutta-percha protaper master cone # F2 (Dentsply Maillefer) was lightly coated with sealer and inserted to the working length.</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"> </span><span style="font-size:&#10;12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif;mso-bidi-font-weight:&#10;bold">After setting of the sealer, horizontal sections of 3-mm thickness were cut from 5 mm from the apex of each root. Each root section was then subjected to a compressive load via a universal testing machine and the values were recorded.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in;text-align:justify;line-height:150%"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif">&nbsp;Results :</span></b><span style="font-size:&#10;12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif;mso-bidi-font-weight:&#10;bold"> Results showed that the control (Group1) presented a lower push&minus;out bond strength value than the experimental groups (P &lt; 0.05). 17% EDTA (Group II ) as the final irrigant provided the highest mean bond strength followed by RC-HELP (Group III) with and&nbsp; 10%CITRIC ACID(Group IV)&nbsp;<o:p></o:p></span></p>
