STUDY ON SERUM LIPID PROFILE IN PSORIATIC PATIENTS: A HOSPITAL BASED STUDY

<p> <i style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt; font-family:"Camia",serif;mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:TimesNewRoman">Psoriasis is a </span></i><i style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt; font-family:"Camia",serif;mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"">lifelong </span></i><i style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt; font-family:"Camia",serif;mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:TimesNewRoman">chronic inflammatory skin disorder affecting </span></i><i style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Camia",serif;mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:major-latin">upto 1-2% of the world’s population</span></i><i style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Camia",serif;mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:major-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:TimesNewRoman">.<sup>2</sup></span></i><i style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt; font-family:"Camia",serif;mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman""> Psoriasis is a common chronic recurrent inflammatory skin disorder characterized by hyperproliferation and reduced differentiation of keratinocytes. </span></i><i style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt; font-family:"Camia",serif;mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin">Our aim was to evaluate the serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-c, LDL-c and VLDL-c levels in patients with Psoriasis and compared the levels with those of healthy controls.. </span></i><i style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Camia",serif; mso-ascii-theme-font:major-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:major-latin;mso-bidi-font-family: TimesNewRoman">We found significant differences for all examined biomarkers (TC, TG, LDL-c and VLDL-c) with the exception of HDL-c in psoriatic patients compared with controls.</span></i></p> <p class="Default" style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph"><i><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Camia",serif;mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:major-latin"><o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
