The concept of attachment &ndash; whether secure or insecure &ndash; has cognitive, emotional and behavioral components. </span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif;&#10;mso-fareast-font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;;mso-bidi-font-family:AdvTimes;&#10;mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-fareast-language:EN-IN;mso-bidi-language:AR-SA">Studies examining adult attachment and psychopathology have found greater insecurity in psychiatric populations compared with healthy controls.</span></p>
