ORAL MELATONIN TO REDUCE STRESS HORMONE PERIOPERATIVELY

Patients were randomly divided into three groups of 20 in each group. Group &ldquo;L&rdquo; &ndash; Patient were given Melatonin 3mg. Group &ldquo;M&rdquo; &ndash; Patient were given Melatonin 5mg. There was no significant reduction in serum Cortisol levels after administration of Melatonin compared to placebo. The patient&rsquo;s heart rate and blood pressure, which is expected to change with different time of observation.
