Mothers and Their Relation with Pupils� Mathematics Anxiety

Abstract :

It was aimed to find out the relationship between mathematics anxiety and mothers in this study. Qualitative research strategy was used in this study. In order to get the data semi–structured interviews were conducted with five mothers and five pupils. The results indicated that mothers have impacts on creating mathematics anxiety and on increasing the level of anxiety. Such factors as ignoring anxiety, lack of knowledge, lack of support at home and compulsion of mothers were found as the reasons of pupils’ mathematics anxiety.
