Synthesis and Characterization of bis 3-phenyldithiocarbazato Cadmium(II): a new single-source precursor for preparation of CdS nanocompounds

Abstract :
<p> <span style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">Metal complex of the type ML<sub>2</sub> [M = Cd; L = </span><span style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">3-phenyldithiocarbazate</span><span style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">] have been successfully synthesized through reaction between potassium </span><i style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height: 150%;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;mso-fareast-font-family:Calii; mso-hansi-font-family:Calii">3</span></i><span style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">-phenyldithiocarbazate</span><span style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;"> with cadmium nitrate in 2:1 ratio and characterized by UV-vis and FT-IR spectroscopy. The complex is formulated as four coordinate species with the dithiocarbazate acting as bidentate chelating ligand. The complex is thermolysed at 100 </span><span style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Symbol;">°</span><span style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">C in ethylene glycol and used as single-source precursors for the synthesis of CdS nanocompounds without using any surfactant </span><span style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">and or additives at mild reaction condition.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%"><o:p> </o:p></p>
