Abstract :

Health care professions are at risk of acquiring numerous diseases which accounts to occupational hazards. The world today is facing an unprecedented situation with the spread of novel coronavirus or covid-19. Dentists in particular are at increased risk for developing this disease as well as being asymptomatic carriers. Detrimental effects of the new biohazards i.e. aerosols and splatter is stressed upon. Since there is no known cure of this dreaded disease prevention is the only way ahead. This review highlights the colliding world of pandemics and viruses and precautions and guidelines which will help health care professionals in combating this viral catastrophe which has only begun.
