Long Term Outcome of Distal Femur Fractures Treated by Plating using Anantomic Locking Compression Plate

Abstract :

<p>&lt;p&gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;amp;nbsp;Treatment of complex fractures of the distal femur utilizing anatomical locking plates e.g. Less Invasive Stabilisation System is considered to be superior to conventional plating systems. Method: 40 patients with a fracture of the distal femur (AO ASIF 33-A-C) were enrolled in this study from June 2011 to August 2015 at Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad. Clinical examination (e.g. range of motion, knee society score) and radiological analysis (e.g. axis deviation, secondary loss of realignment) follow-ups were conducted one and 4 weeks, 3 months,6 months,12 months after the operation. Results: This study comprises data of 40 patients (32 male, 8 female ). Anantomical distal Femur plates provide anatomical reduction and early mobilization and thereby better outcome of treatment. Conclusion: We present the analysis of a prospective study to treatment following complex fractures of the distal femur.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&lt;/p&gt;</p>
