TO STUDY THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VIDEO ASSISTED TRAINING PROGRAM IN EARLY DETECTION AND PREVENTION OF COMPARTMENT SYNDROME

It was a cross sectional hospital based study and simple random sampling techniques were used. Descriptive research design was adopted. The sample comprised of 50 Caregivers <span style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">patients with mental illness</span>. The following tools were used for the current study: Socio-demographic data sheet and Burden Assessment schedule (Thara, Padmavati, Kumar &amp; Srinivasn -1998). <b>Result:</b> </span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">The results shows that majority of the caregivers age groups between </span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">31 - 40 years (40%)</span><b style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">, </span></b><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">half of the respondent (50%) were male and half (50%) were female, </span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">Nearly half (i.e.) 46% of the respondents were parents of the patients with mental illness, </span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">majority of the caregiver (</span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">88%) of the respondents were married, more than three-fourth (i.e.) 78% of the respondents were Hindu, more than three-fourth (i.e.) 76.0% of the respondents were living in urban area, </span><span lang="EN-IN" style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">Majority<b> </b></span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">were studied up to Undergraduate (60%), </span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">majority 66% of caregivers were doing business. </span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">And also this study found that 50% of caregivers </span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;">of patients with mental disorders</span><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"> were experiencing severe burden, 20% were experiencing moderate burden, and 30% were experiencing mild burden. </span><b style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&quot;;mso-bidi-font-family:&#10;Latha">Conclusion:</span></b><span style="text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif;"> This study findings indicates that caregivers of patients with mental disorders experiencing enormous burden and they need to be given proper attention and psychosocial intervention to reduce their burden and increase their quality of life.&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&quot;"><o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
