Abstract :

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">Surgical removal of impacted third molars is one of the main procedures performed on young adults and adolescents. A randomised control trial consisting of 30 subjects in the age group of 18-50 years was undertaken to evaluate analgesic and anti-inflammatory efficacy of Proteolytic enzymes: Trypsin and Chymotrypsin on Swelling, Pain and Trismus after extraction of impacted mandibular third molars. Based on the present study, proteolytic enzymes: Trypsin and Chymotrypsin gave better results with respect to pain, swelling and trismus after removal of impacted mandibular third molars. They provide a safe and effective alternative to reduce the severity of postoperative discomfort after surgical removal of impacted mandibular third molars.

<span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12.0pt;line-height:200%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">
