Abstract :

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;">Ageing is associated with a decline in many of the human body’s functions, including that of the immune system. The negative impact of ageing on immunity is called <b style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;">IMMUNOSENESCENCE<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;">; where the function of various components of both the innate and acquired immune system is attenuated with important consequences to health and disease. <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;">Interestingly, it would appear that the number of neutrophils in circulation is not affected by age, although there is evidence of decreased <b style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;">PHAGOCYTOSIS<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;"> and reduced superoxide production. In addition, surgical stress is forbidding HOMEOSTASIS. The goal is to identify the variance in neutrophil count & phagocytosis, as neutrophils<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;"> <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;">are the 1ST<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 16pt;"> LINE OF DEFENCE FOR HOST IMMUNITY

<span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">
