Abstract :

Rapid economic development has become the foremost concern of the developing countries including India after attaining political freedom. In planned economic development, industrialization occupies a pivotal position. This is because industrialization and economic development have become closely integrated with each other. In India, the development of small Enterprises facilitates the effective mobilization of resources of capital and skill which might otherwise remain unutilized. These industries also offer a method of promotion of new entrepreneurs, ensuring a more equitable distribution of the national income unlike the large-scale enterprises. The establishment of small Enterprises involves a relatively shorter gestation period and lesser dependence on improved equipment and raw material. These small Enterprises help also large industries by meeting their requirements of parts and components.
