A Sample of 320 female students studying in class 8th were selected from ten schools of District Srinagar. Rohner’s Parental Acceptance- Rejection Questionnaire (1978) was used to identify the parentally accepted and rejected girls. Nadeem’s Self Perception Inventory (1984) was administered on subjects to study their self-concept. Also the average of the percentage of marks obtained at 3 previously held examinations was treated as the index of academic achievement. The data was analysed by using mean, SD and t-test. The results indicated that parentally accepted girls have positive self concept and higher educational achievement whereas parentally rejected girls tended towards negative self concept and are low so far as their academic achievement is concerned <o:p></o:p></span></p>
