High-volume low-concentration intraperitoneal bupivacaine for post-laparoscopic cholecystectomy analgesia : A prospective randomised controlled study.

Abstract :
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal;mso-layout-grid-align:none;text-autospace:none"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:black; background:white">Pain is considerable after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. </span><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">This study was conducted to evaluate results of high-volume lowconcentration bupivacaine for post</span><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family: "ZapfElliptical711BT-Roman","serif";mso-ascii-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"">‑</span><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">operative analgesia in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. Sixty patients undergoing LC were included in thisstudy. Patients were divided into two (<i>n </i>= 30) groups. In Group S intraperitoneal irrigation was done with 300 ml of normal saline. In Group B 25 ml of 0.5% (125 mg) bupivacaine was added to 275 mlof normal saline for intraperitoneal irrigation during and after surgery.
