Chromobacterium violaceum: An uncommon bacterium isolated from blood culture.

Abstract :

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:&#10;.5in;mso-layout-grid-align:none;text-autospace:none"><i><span style="mso-ansi-language:&#10;EN-US;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">Chromobacteriumviolaceum</span></i><span style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">sepsis is a rarely reported phenomenon. </span><span lang="EN-GB" style="mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">We report a unique case of <i>C. violaceum</i>sepsis in a female child. A 2-year-old girl presented to our institution with bilateral ear discharge, fever, vomiting, with poor weight gain, diminished activity and mental status. No significant Radiological findings. The infant was successfully treated with ciprofloxacin and gentamicin<span style="color:#548DD4;mso-themecolor:text2;&#10;mso-themetint:153">.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
