Psychological morbidity and coping strategy in parents of neonates admitted in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Abstract :

This ief training needs assessment survey was carried out among senior residents /PGs of SKIMS Medical College, Bemina Srinagar. A total of 76 completed questionnaires were assessed. The study revealed that only 26.3% participants had received any formal training in research methodology, 17% participants considered that training to be satisfactory. 33% agreed that they could write a sound research protocol, 36.8% participants were aware how to choose an appropriate sample size and 33% participants knew how to apply a test of statistical significance. All participants agreed that a training program on research methods would be useful to enhance their research skills. Majority of the participants suggested a full three days training program for such a skill up-gradation. 54% participants had published a research paper in last two years, 21% had presented a paper at a scientific conference in last two years and 26.3% participants had presented a poster at a scientific conference in the last two years.
