Influence of Rasayana on Fitness Parameters and Life span of Caenorhabditis elegans: Preliminary report

Abstract :

<p>&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp; We have used C.elegans for the first time to test Ayurvedic medicines. such as rasayana (herbal formulations). The&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;div&gt;objective of our study was to explore the potential of rasayana of Emblica officinalis drug on longevity, reproductive&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;fitness of C.elegans. Increase in ood size, lifespan, and normal developmental time was observed in rasayana fed&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;worms, compare to control one according to the one way ANOVA.&lt;/div&gt;</p>
