Improved Design of Active Front End Converter

Abstract :

Control algorithm to improve %THD and reduce in sensor using two active front end converters is proposed in this paper. The suggested techniques show constant output DC voltage with unity power factor. The voltage control loop method reduces in one current sensor. In the existing method basic PI controller is used. In this paper PID control algorithm is used improve the harmonics and power factor. The suggested PID Control algorithm for current sensors totally eliminate current sensor Comparison is made between the existing and suggested techniques in terms of %THD. Sine–triangular PWM is used for the control of the converters. Simulation of different mode of operation of front end converter is performed on MATLAB.
