Dr Celestine O. Mume

Abstract :

The purpose of this essay is to assert that there are a number of human experiences which cannot be explained on the basis of the laws that govern the material universe. That being the case, these experiences are beyond physics and by definition are metaphysical in nature. As for those who reject this position, I think many do so not necessarily on the basis of abundant scientific evidence against it, but rather out of an unconscious concern to identify with the mainstream scientific community.

The ability of conventional science to accept the insolubility of these metaphysical experiences in the laws of the material universe is a measure of the objectivity of the material scientists.
