Abstract :

<p>&nbsp;<span style="font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, serif; font-size: 12pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;">Obesity and osteoporosis are the emerging public health concerns both in the developing and developed nations. Many a studies have been considering body mass index (BMI) as its core axis on which the study revolves around. Studies with focus on weight, BMI and Bone mineral density (BMD) is a rarity. In our study we envisages our parameters on weight, BMI in particular &amp; BMD.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 15pt 0.0001pt 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: 200%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;&#10;line-height:200%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A cross sectional study was conducted among patients attended BMD camps in Dept. of <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 15pt 0.0001pt 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: 200%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;&#10;line-height:200%;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif">PMR, Govt. The results demonstrated that the BMI was found to be in direct relation with BMD status of the individual in the study population. Osteoporosis is seen more in underweight people than among overweight persons<o:p></o:p></span></p>
